Transitioning to IFRS S1 & S2 for Sustainability Reporting
Overview
Transitioning to IFRS S1 and S2: Aligning Sustainability Disclosures with Global and Local Standards.Â
As sustainability disclosure frameworks evolve globally, the release of IFRS S1 (General Requirements) and IFRS S2 (Climate-related Disclosures) mark a turning point in standardizing sustainability-related financial reporting. In the Philippines, the alignment of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Sustainability Report (SuRe) Form with these standards underscores the urgency for local companies to reassess and upgrade their reporting practices. The transition is not only about compliance, but also about building credibility, improving access to capital, and managing long-term ESG risks.
This 1-day in-person training is designed to support professionals from various industries and reporting maturity levels—whether just starting out or already consistently disclosing ESG data. Through a structured blend of inputs, peer learning, and hands-on activities, participants will gain a clear understanding of the requirements under IFRS S1 and S2, how they differ from or complement existing frameworks like GRI and TCFD, and what steps are needed to transition efficiently. The course will also explore the Philippine regulatory landscape, particularly the SEC SuRe form, and help companies plan for a phased and prioritized transition.
